Using the IPad can prepare a student for learning in the classroom. Students can use the iPad to modify curiculum to suit their needs as a learner. Often times I have seen students able to participate in at-level curriculum if they are given the opportunity to use assistive technology. Therefore learning the basics of how to use an IPad (cause and effect, target selection) is essential for these students. Once they can access an IPad or other device, they are able to read books, create presentations, communicate and engage in social activities. The following information is some apps that have been identified as useful in learning the essential pre-skills needed.
